The conference is organized to commemorate our distinguished colleague, so far the only female recipient of the Claude E. Shannon Award. The main focus of the conference will be subjects on which Katalin Marton's work had a lasting influence: Information theory, primarily multiuser coding theorems, study via information theoretic tools of fields in probability theory, primarily measure concentration, and in graph theory.

She passed away in December 2019, the memorial conference has been delayed because of the pandemic.

Invited speakers who agreed to give a talk:

A special invited talk will be given by Ben Green virtually during the conference on the recent solution of Marton's conjecture, also known as the polynomial Freiman-Ruzsa conjecture.
